I am an associate professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, & Education (AESE) at The Pennsylvania State University. My primary field is environmental economics with a focus on water resources. I use empirical methods to understand incentives and evaluate policies in environmental markets. I use methods of causal inference such as nonmarket valuation, field experiments, and the econometric analysis of observational data. My research also incorporates elements of behavioral economics, such as the impact of social information and cognitive failures. A related line of research studies externalities and dynamic tolling in the transportation sector. I hope to expand my interdisciplinary research to focus on stormwater, green infrastructure, and other water resource management topics. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments on my research.
